I'm not going to go into the gory details of the birth. But let's just cover a few points:
- I was exhausted and I was just the support crew
- Baby's are cute - a friend recently remarked that that really is their survival tactic.
- nothing prepares you for meconium
- birth plans are just that - plans. Anything could happen and for us it mostly did. About half of ours was trashed as events unfolded.
- Your midwife is crucial. We got a very good one and are very very thankful for it.
Anyway... we'll tell you the details some time.

It worked for baby Triceratops, it should be good enough for Eleanor.
Enjoy the happy times!
Congratulations guys! You chose a beautiful name. Meconium: Though I now know what it is, i still don't think I will be prepared for it! :)
Take Care, Wibble oxox
Congratulations!! Gorgeous name!
Only 5% of babies are born on their due date... mine was and yours was... who made up these statistics?
I would love to hear the gory details sometime, because I am just fascinated by it all, but when you are ready!
Enjoy every moment - it is all so worth it!

I KNEW that people who had kids didn't tell us everything. Meconium. Who knew? Thanks for keeping it real.
Welcome to the gorgeous Eleanor Rose (when can we call her Ellie?). Love to you all, em
Welcome to the world of parents. You can't walk out of the house with just your wallet and keys EVER AGAIN!! Enjoy the baby times- despite the vomit and poo- 'coz it won't last long
I hope you will bring the little lady home soon to visit the tribe.
Good job guys- you make nice babies.
Love ELK
Congratulations Steve and Bridie.
Welcome to the world Eleanor Rose.
The birth is hard is hard but duration <24hrs. Being parents for close to 18 years is the next challenge.
Hope that you found a pram at Mothercare, just to carry all the stuff around!!
Enjoy the baby times - when despite the vomit and poo they are not causing mischief or answering back - it doesn't last long.
We hope to see you and the little Eleanor back in Oz soon.
Mark, Jenelle, Andrew & Madeleine ;-)
Congratulations Steve and Bridie.
Enjoy your time with Eleanor.
Happy days :)
